Kids

Nursery

Feel free to drop off your baby/toddler between ages 0 and 2 in our nursery. Our awesome volunteers will take great care of your precious kid(s), and they're more than qualified since they have cleared a background check and completed a Sexual Abuse Awareness Training. If you're new, we ask that you fill out a brief form, so that we can make sure your kid(s) go home only with you. If you want to stay together as a family, no problem! Our nursery doubles as a family room, where your family can catch your breath together. We always stream the service here, so you won't miss a thing!

Connect Kids

During the service, kids who are between the ages of 3 and 12 are invited to Connect Kids, located right next door to the Nursery. Kids all start together, then ages 7-12 break off into their own age-appropriate small group in Room 203, located next to the Office. Volunteers who love them will create a safe and intentional place for them to connect, both to Jesus and one another. Connect Kids runs until 11:00am, so that parents can have more time to fellowship after the service while their kids learn, but if you need to head out before 11:00am, feel free to pick them up early.

VBS

Every summer, Bethesda welcomes kids ages 3-12 to our Vacation Bible School, where it's all about Jesus and fun. Whether they're learning in small groups, learning in big group, playing games, making crafts, or even just eating snacks, we want every child to know the love of Jesus and maybe make a few new friends. We especially want to make this a blessing to everyone, so we always have our VBS during the morning and provide everything for free. That's right—free!

EVENTS

There's always something to look forward to at Bethesda, and that's especially true for the kids! Whether it's the Easter Eggstravaganza in the spring, VBS in the summer, Trunk-or-Treat in the fall, or the Christmas Play in the winter, children have plenty of opportunities to have fun and learn about Jesus together. If you're new to church, these events are great places to dip your toes in! Keep your eye out for the next event by looking at our calendar, and we hope to see you then.

Free resources

We only get one hour each week with your kids, and that's not nearly enough time to disciple them the way they need and deserve. That's why we want to equip parents, since you're the most qualified people to disciple your kids. We provide The Biggest Story ABCs (ages 0-3), The Big Picture Story Bible (3-6), The Biggest Story (6-10), and our home-grown Kids' Catechism (3-10), as well as Family Worship for free at our Free Resources Center by Doors A & B. No matter what stage of development your kid is at, we have something for you.

Homeschool co-op

We have all kinds of education strategies represented at Bethesda—public schooling, private schooling, and homeschooling. We want to equip parents to raise their kids to the best of their abilities, and that's why we're honored to partner with SHARE, an established and renowned homeschool co-op in the metro St. Louis area. Their classes meet at Bethesda on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are a la carte, meaning they're flexible enough to serve your needs. If you're considering homeschooling your children or just want to learn more, please visit their website.
